At Gayndah State School we run a Student Resource Scheme for Instrumental Music, which is endorsed annually by our P&C.
Instrumental Music Student Resource Scheme (SRS)
The Instrumental Music Student Resource Scheme (SRS) is designed to support students participating in the school's Instrumental Music Program by providing access to essential resources and equipment at an affordable cost.
What is the Instrumental Music SRS?
The SRS is a voluntary scheme that helps reduce the financial burden on families by offering shared access to musical instruments, sheet music, and other resources required for the program. By participating in the scheme, families can ensure their child has everything they need to succeed in their instrumental music studies.
What Does the Scheme Cover?
The SRS fee contributes to the cost of:
- Instrument hire (if applicable)
- Sheet music and ensemble repertoire
- Maintenance and servicing of school-owned instruments
- Access to specialised music resources and equipment
Who Can Join?
The scheme is available to students from Year 4 to 6 enrolled in the school's Instrumental Music Program. Participation is optional, but highly recommended for families who do not wish to purchase or maintain their own instruments and resources.
Costs and Payment Options
- The annual SRS fee for the Instrumental Music Program is $75 for students who hire an instrument and $25 for students who already own their instrument.
- Payment plans and financial assistance may be available for eligible families. Please contact the school office to discuss your options.
How to Join the Scheme
To participate in the Instrumental Music SRS:
- Complete the Instrumental Music SRS Agreement Form (available from the school office or website).
- Submit the form and payment to the school office.
- By submitting the agreement form you have committed to full payment of the SRS while your child is participating in the program.
Terms and Conditions
- Participation in the SRS is voluntary. Families who choose not to participate will need to provide their own instruments and resources as specified by the school.
- All school-owned instruments must be returned in good condition at the end of the school year or when the student leaves the program.
- Families may be responsible for any loss or damage to school-owned instruments while in their care.
